Assessment is done to determine the outcomes (what students have learned), process (the way they learned), and their approach to the learning before, during, or after the program or course.In the teaching-learning process the purpose of assessment is:Providing credible feedback to learners.Motivating children to develop an interest in the study. Providing feedback to each pupil about his/her progress in study.Giving feedback to the teacher about the effectiveness of his/her teaching. Enhancing the teaching-learning process so that the learning of students can be benefitted.Assessing the remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating abilities of learners.Hence, it could be concluded that in the teaching-learning process the purpose of assessment is to provide feedback to learners.
