National Education Policy 2020 is the first education policy of the 21st century and aims to address the many growing developmental imperatives of our country. The development of the creative potential of each student is emphasized in the National Education Policy 2020.NIPUN Bharat Mission or National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy is launched by the Education Ministry of India under National Education Policy 2020.A National Mission on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy called €œNational Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN Bharat)€ is being set up by the Ministry of Education (MoE) on priority.The National Mission lays down priorities and actionable agendas for States/UTs to achieve the goal of proficiency in foundational literacy and numeracy for every child by the end of Grade 3. This mission plans to achieve the discussed goals by 2026-27.Hence, it is clear that the objective of the NIPUN Bharat Mission is that the child must gain proficiency in reading and writing when the child reaches class 3.
