D.

Solution:

Reading has been defined as a process whereby one looks at and understands what has been written, the reader does not necessarily need to look at everything in a given piece of writing. The reader actively works on the text and is able to arrive at understanding it without looking at every letter and word. Three phases of reading are pre-reading phase while reading phase, and post-reading phase.Post-reading phase:-"Post-reading" (after, follow-up, beyond reading) exercises first check students' comprehension and then lead students to a deeper analysis of the text when warranted. The exercises/activities in this section do not directly refer to the text but grow out of it.The aims of post-reading exercises are:-To consolidate and reflect upon what has been readTo relate the text to the learner's own previous knowledge, interests, or views. To mesh new information into what one already knows. These exercises should contribute, in a coherent manner, to the writing, speaking, and listening skills. For example:- After reading the text, the students are creating a subtext from the jumbled sentences. The students analyze, draw a conclusion, and join the new information with their prior knowledge to build their concepts. Thus, it is concluded that creating a subtext from the given jumbled sentences is a post-reading activity. Additional InformationPre-reading Phase: This phase consists of a variety of tasks. These tasks arouse learners interest in the topic and encourage them to predict and deal with difficult vocabulary.While-reading Phase: This phase draws on the text, rather than the learners ideas previous to the reading activity.Silent reading: It is a skilled process that refers to accessing meaning without voicing the words that help the reader to comprehend the core sense of the written text.
