What was the reason for appointing slaves to high positions during the Delhi Sultanate?Choose the most appropriate option

A.
They were easy to control and did not have to be paid.
B.
They owed their life to the Sultan and their heirs.
C.
They were loyal to the Sultan and their heirs.
D.
They were trustworthy and dependent on their master.

Solution:

Delhi's sultanate's vast kingdom needed reliable governors and administrators. Rather than appointing aristocrats and landed chieftains as governers, the Delhi sultanate appointed slaves to high positions. Iltutmish, Delhi sultan favored their special slaves purchased for military service, called bandagan in Persian. These slaves are dependent upon their masters and the sultan could trust and rely upon them. Hence, slaves are trustworthy and dependent on their masters is the main reason to appoint them to higher positions in the Delhi sultanate. Mistake PointsSlaves and clients were loyal to their masters and patrons, but not to their heirs. There are many instances shows where after the death of sultans, their slaves declare themselves rulers of that particular region.
