SBI Clerk Exam 2022

SBI conducts the SBI Clerk Exam annually to recruit candidates for the post of Junior Associates (Customer Support and Sales) in its different branches of SBI across the country. SBI Clerk is one of the most sought-after bank exams today and a huge number of candidates appear for the same every year. This year, State Bank of India has announced the recruitment of banking aspirants for 5486 posts of Junior Associates (Clerks).

SBI Clerk Selection Process

SBI Clerk selection process comprises three stages, Preliminary exam, Mains exam and Test of specified opted local language. Candidates need to qualify each and every stage of selection process in order to be considered for the final appointment.

Prelims Exam: In the SBI Clerk prelims exam 2022, the candidates will have to answer three sections of 100 marks within one hour.

Mains Exam: The second phase of the SBI Clerk exam is the Mains exam, where the aspirants have to answer 4 sections of 200 marks within 2 hours 40 minutes.

Language Test: This is the last phase of the SBI Clerk selection process. The shortlisted aspirants will join the Clerk’s post.

SBI Clerk Selection Process: Phase I (Prelims)
SBI Clerk prelims exam is an online objective test of 100 marks and the candidates have to complete the exam within 60 minutes.
• In the SBI Clerk prelims exam, the candidates will get a sectional time limit of 20 minutes. The candidates have to answer the questions of Numerical Ability, Reasoning Ability, and English Language.
• In the SBI Clerk Prelims exam, there is no sectional cutoff.
• There is negative marking for the incorrect answers and the candidates will get a deduction of 1/4th.

SBI Clerk Selection Process: Phase II (Mains)
The aggregate scores obtained from the SBI Clerk Mains exam will be considered for the final merit list. Similar to the SBI Clerk Prelims exam, there will be no sectional cutoff in the SBI Clerk Mains exam, however, to get finally selected, the candidates have to score the minimum percentage of marks. Only the SC/ST/OBC/XS/PWD aspirants will get a relaxation of 5% on the overall aggregate marks.
• The merit list of the qualifying aspirants in the SBI Clerk Mains will be released as per the states and categories.
• Similar to the SBI Clerk Prelims exam, the aspirants will get a deduction of 1/4th marks for the incorrect answer.

SBI Clerk Selection Process: Phase III (Local Language Test)

• The aspirants require providing the 10th or 12th certificate for showing that they have chosen the opted local language in the higher secondary.
• If the aspirants will fail to show the certificate, they will require appearing for the opted local language test.
• This opted local language test will be commenced before the joining process.
• To check the fluency in the speaking, writing, and reading proficiency of the aspirants, the opted local language test is conducted.
• If the candidates do not pass this test, they will be disqualified from the SBI clerk recruitment process.

Waiting List
If the aspirants will like to be on the waiting list, then they need to secure the minimum qualifying scores. The waiting list will be valid for one year from the declaration date of the SBI Clerk result 2022.

Probation Period
The aspirants will have to serve the 6 months probation period. In the duration of 6 months, the employees will need to complete 15 authorized e-lessons.
• If the aspirants will fail to complete the 15 allotted e-lessons, then the probation period will be automatically extended.
• Once the allotted e-lessons will be completed, the performance of the newly hired clerks will be assessed as per the SBI Clerk Junior Associate Selection Process.
• The probation period will also be extended if the performance of the newly appointed employees will not up to the expectation.
• If the candidates do not pass this test, they will be disqualified from the SBI clerk recruitment process.
