IBPS PO Score Calculation

The scores of IBPS PO are calculated in the following manner:
• The corrected scores obtained by each candidate in different sessions of the exam are normalised using the equi-percentile method
• Scores upto two decimal points are taken for the purpose of calculations

What is Normalisation Process in IBPS PO?

The normalisation is the process followed by IBPS to evaluate the performance of candidates based on the difficulty level. The exam is conducted in multiple shifts, as a result, there is variation in the difficulty level of question papers. The sectional and overall difficulty of topics varies in each slot. The questions may be easier in one slot, while it might be difficult in the other. For evaluation, IBPS normalises the marks obtained by candidates in different shifts of the exam. The normalisation is done using the equi-percentile method. IBPS PO result is announced after normalising the marks of candidates.

IBPS PO Result for Preliminary Exam

The preliminary exam of IBPS PO comprises three sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. The maximum marks allotted for the prelims exam are 100. Candidates need to qualify in each test by securing the minimum qualifying marks.

IBPS PO Result for Mains Exam

The mains exam is conducted for 225 marks. The test carries four objective-type papers and one descriptive paper. The sections of IBPS PO mains exam for objective type paper are Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness, English Language and Data Analysis & Interpretation. The descriptive paper comprises questions from English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). Candidates securing the minimum qualifying marks in the mains exam are shortlisted for the Interview.

IBPSPO Interview

The result for the interview is announced along with the final allotment. The Interview is conducted for the shortlisted candidates of the mains exam. The total marks allotted for the interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks for interview are 40 per cent and 35 per cent for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD candidates. The scores obtained in the interview are not disclosed to the candidates who fail to secure the minimum qualifying marks in the exam.

IBPS PO Result for Final/Provisional Allotment

IBPS PO final/provisional allotment result is declared after completion of the interview. The ratio of weightage given to the mains exam and interview is 80:20. Candidates should qualify in both online mains exam and interview and should be high in the merit to be shortlisted for the provisional allotment process. The allotment to different banks is done on the basis of final vacancies and merit-cum-preference. Selected candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria of the participating banks and identity verification. Offer of appointment and joining formalities are done by the allotted participating banks.
